This Week's Bite-Sized Health Tip:

Quick Nutrition for pups & yourself: Did you know that hydrating properly can boost energy, focus and lower chances of kidney, liver & skin issues while helping weight management in both pups and humans.

For pups- always provide fresh, filtered, room temperature water where you can.

For yourself aim to drink at least 8 glasses of the same daily. Add lemon or cucumber slices for extra refreshing flavours for yourself.

Extra tip: If your pup is overly thirsty and hunting for water frequently, you may like to take a look at their food to see if it’s highly processed, contains additives or check with your vet if you’re concerned.

Healthy Pup Recipe from my upcoming Doggy Recipe Book:

Organic Beef with Greens & Super Antioxidants

Ingredients:

  • 1kg organic beef mince or steak, sliced.

  • 1 cup organic brown rice, cooked or 1 cup of sweet potato, chopped & steamed.

  • 1/2 cup broccoli, rinsed, steamed and chopped.

  • 1/4 cup spinach steamed and chopped.

  • 1/4 cup blueberries, rinsed.

  • ½ tsp. turmeric powder

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet, cook the beef until browned, add turmeric, then remove from heat.

  2. Cook the brown rice, and let it sit with lid off to cool. Or steam the sweet potato as a grain free option.

  3. Steam the broccoli and spinach lightly and remove from heat.

  4. In a large porcelain mixing bowl, combine the ingredients and once cooled, mix thoroughly, adding the blueberries.

  5. Serve in the portion size correct for your pup and watch them enjoy!

  6. Freeze or refrigerate the rest in the right portion sizes for your doggy to enjoy later!

Benefits:

  • Beef is a protein powerhouse, providing essential amino acids for energy & muscle maintenance.

  • Brown rice offers complex carbohydrates for feeding good gut bacteria, nutrients for slow burning energy & for calming behaviour, and is gentle on the digestive system.

  • Broccoli is packed with vitamins, minerals, and fibre, chlorella for odour prevention and detox support. Plus green leafy veggies have been shown to lower cancer rates in both animals and humans.

  • Blueberries are a superfood, rich in antioxidants & Vitamin C; beneficial for cognitive function, cancer prevention, lowering inflammation & more.
