7/4/25 This Week's Bite-Sized Health Tip:
Feed yourself & your dog a balanced, varied diet
Did you know that you and your pooch need a varied diet to stay healthy? It should contain healthy proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals that come from a number of different whole-food sources and bright in antioxidant colours. A balanced diet will ensure that you & your dog get all the nutrients it needs to stay fit, healthy and avoid disease.

So how do you achieve this?
For human health: give yourself a base and variety of colourful, fresh veggies & fruits each day. Some fresh, clean proteins like fish/chicken/beef/kangaroo/legumes/quinoa/egg & wholefood carbs like brown rice/organic gluten free breads/sour doughs/barley/oats and healthy fats from chia seeds, microalgae/seaweeds, raw nuts and seeds, avocado, olive oil and flax seed oils.
For your pup: it’s the same. The less processed the food is & more wholefood; the better: Although pups tend to require more protein than we do. But it’s a similar concept: a variety of fresh, healthy natural proteins is best, different veggies each day, and fruits like blue berries and apple are great. Healthy fats from chia, fish, flax and microalgae are wonderful, and making sure they get enough fibre from unprocessed whole carbohydrates or veggies.
