Top Autumn Foods for your Pup

🍂 Autumn Edition 🍁Brought to you by Nutritionist Honor Tremain, Founder of Daya Pet Food Co. Issue: Best Autumn Foods for Your Pup

Hello Dog Lovers! đŸ¶

As the leaves change and the temperatures drop, it’s the perfect time to refresh your pup’s bowl with some hearty, nutritious seasonal veggies. Autumn brings a bounty of dog-safe ingredients that support everything from digestion to eye health—and they’re as delicious as they are beneficial.

This week, we’re spotlighting our Top Autumn Foods for Dogs, and sharing a warm, belly-friendly recipe your furry friend will love!

đŸ„•Â Carrots

Whether raw or steamed, carrots are a crunchy treat packed with beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A—key for eye health. They're also full of fiber, vitamin K, and potassium, making them a low-calorie, nutrient-dense snack.

Quick Fact: One medium carrot (61g) has just 25 calories and 6g of carbohydrates—perfect for pups watching their weight!

🎃 Pumpkin

Steam it and mix it into your dog’s meal for a fibre-packed boost! Pumpkin is gentle on the stomach and great for digestion. It's rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, and other essential nutrients.

Did You Know? One cup of cooked pumpkin provides just 49 calories and nearly 2g of protein!

đŸ„ŹÂ Cabbage

Often overlooked, cabbage is a great low-calorie veggie that supports gut health and immune function. Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, and fibre, it’s a crunchy way to pack more nutrients into your pup’s diet.

🌿 Kale

This superfood isn’t just for humans. Kale is bursting with antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin K, and beta-carotene, helping to support heart health and immune defences. Just make sure it’s steamed and served in moderation.

đŸ„ŠÂ Cauliflower

A versatile veggie your pup can enjoy raw or cooked. High in fibre, vitamin C, and vitamin K, cauliflower supports digestion—but be mindful of portion size to avoid gas or tummy trouble.

đŸŒ±Â Flaxseeds & Chia Seeds

These tiny seeds are nutritional powerhouses. Flaxseeds are rich in omega-3s and fibrr, while chia seeds offer bone-supporting calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium. Sprinkle ground flax or soaked chia on your pup’s meal for a nutrient boost.
